A Sluggish Ramble

I have been seriously incapable of focusing lately. My brain is jumping from one topic to another, I feel unable to make decisions and doing anything at all seems like a great effort. I have to go to the grocery store, but that seems daunting today and I know I would come home with nothing that I need and a whole lot of stupid things like nail polish or a piñata. I know I need to sweep and mop, but the thought of it makes my shoulders droop and my head hang low (nothing new in that now that I think about it). Even the idea of going to the beach seems like a huge undertaking. (shocking!) I'm lacking energy, patience and my normal perky outlook on life. Post holiday blues? Too much mommy/Max time and not enough time for myself? Or just plain ole depression? Probably a mix of a whole lot of things, all I know is that my energy is at zero today and my focus is a big blur. Perhaps I need a list. Hey, I know, I'll share it with you!

1. Sweep and mop (but you knew that already)
2. Put away clean laundry
3. Clean cat box
4. Get someone to clean the tinacos
5. Get someone to come and take away the old air conditioner that has been sitting on our bedroom floor for a year and a half
6. Get to a chiropractor (I have seriously messed up my hip, legs are numb from a pinched nerve and I occasionally gasp in pain scaring Max with my facial contortions and "OWWWWWWS")
7. Measure windows for curtains that parents will be bringing
8. Clean out "junk" drawers and file important papers that are not junk but are in the junk drawer
9. Draw a layout/plan for redecorating Max's room
10. Beg, borrow or steal enough money to finally get rolling on Max's Canadian citizenship
11. Get Hubby to finally get passports for himself and Max
12. Get a Quintana Roo driver's license
13. Write a book
14. Join a yoga class (after number 6)
15. Win the lottery
16. Select photos for large format printing in an effort to brighten up this bare-walled house
17. Get the dog groomed and apply Frontline
18. Figure out how to make some money this year, at least enough to make ends meet for a change.
19. Find a salsa class that is not in a bar
20. Get inspired and motivated in the kitchen again, my meals are boring me to tears
21. Get back to studying Spanish, heck, maybe this time with a teacher!
22. Start a new blog

I know there is more but I've lost my train of thought (see, told you I can't focus!). I'm thinking right now that if number 15 happens first, the rest will just fall into place. At least I could hire someone to take care of the list and do my thinking for me.

Oh, look, something shiny.....

I am feeling just the same way! I have stuff that I should do, nothing that I want to even start on. I am officially at loose ends. It happens.
I have a novel to read and I can't get past the second chapter. It's for a book club and it's too wordy. I have a HUGE pile of clothes to wash and put away.
Husband asked me if I wanted to go out for pizza and the idea just seemed too hard.
What is going on here?
regards,
Theresa

I'm going to help.

Do this today as well as go to the supermarket:

1. Sweep and mop (but you knew that already)
2. Put away clean laundry
3. Clean cat box

Do this tomorrow:

17. Get the dog groomed and apply Frontline.

6. Get to a chiropractor MAKE THE APPOINTMENT TODAY!!!!!

7. Measure windows for curtains that parents will be bringing

Get hubby rolling on this within the next couple of weeks:

11. Get Hubby to finally get passports for himself and Max

Work on these within the next month:

20. Get inspired and motivated in the kitchen again, my meals are boring me to tears
21. Get back to studying Spanish, heck, maybe this time with a teacher!

There are salsa classes at a studio on Tulum just to the left of the Assis. I think Lisa knows about this. Ask her. But really, you should probably win the lottery first.

I've got it too. Nothing works right and I'm trying very hard not to blow it and get drummed out of the culturally sensitive expat club. I just want to go off on a few people US-style.

What's with that last one? Do we bore you too? Why you wanna new blog? Stay here, we like you. :)

5. have hubby carry it out to the curb after dark. it will go away.
20. i will send you some quick, easy, cheap and delicious menus
22. an additional one? don't stop this one!

I say get to the chiropractor sooner than later, that could be the root of alot of your problems.
I am a big believer in chiroprators, and a good adjustment can make all the difference.
Next...
refer to Islagringo's list :)

Back to trying to figure out my taxes..yuck!

Theresa- Perhaps it's the moon phase. Sorry to hear you are (were?) with me in the "stuck" mode, hope things are picking up for you and that the eye is feeling fine.

My Way- Thanks amiga, I ended up doing "none of the above" but picked up a little of the slack yesterday. I'm working on the lottery thing, that should make life just a little bit easier.

Jonna- Argh, you and Theresa and I, we need a little cleansing I guess! And about a new blog, I would still keep this one, but I am mulling around the idea of starting one that is specifically for making some money. Also thinking (dreaming) of starting an all Cancun news blog, but that would be incredibly time consuming (though perhaps rewarding). Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere, just may be popping up in other places too!

Beth- I think we've ALL been there, lol. Glad you got the badge, did you have the energy to sew it on? ;-)

Gringo- I like your suggestion of "get hubby to do it", I think I'll apply that to the whole list. And yes, an additional one, this one ain't going nowhere!

Laura- I LURVE my chiropractor and am dying to see him. You are correct, when the back is out of whack, everything else can be affected.

Nancy- Oh how I dream of a sleep in! Max is an early riser, he's up at the crack of dawn and everyone knows it with his energy level. I can't remember the last time I got to sleep in, oh what a thrill that would be!

Heather- Oh heck to the yeah, you got it hon. I don't know up from down somedays. :)

Theresa- Thanks, still working on putting it all together, you are quick, it's only been about 20 minutes, lol!
