The Curse of the Cancun Canuck Clan

(Yeah yeah, I love alliteration).

The curse has struck again. This is the sixth time my family has come to visit since I moved to Mexico and it's the sixth time that one or more of us has gotten sick during the trip. We have such fond memories of my dad being ill on the side of the road between Playa del Carmen and Cancun (gall bladder) and of course the infamous "Six Sick in Six Days" visit where ALL of us were very ill for the entire length of their stay. Colds, flus, gall bladders, bad backs and bad tummies, we've suffered it all. This visit is no exception. Max woke up Saturday morning in Merida with a very bad little tummy, forcing us to spend more time in the hotel room than we really wanted, filling him with liquids and medicine and watching cartoons rather than exploring the city.

And now it is my turn. I woke up far too early this morning to find myself running to the loo for a little quality time with the cool white bowl. I'm dizzy and nauseous and feel rather lousy. Actually, it feels like a hangover after a bottle of tequila, without the joy of the buzz. I've been in bed all morning watching the ceiling spin while my parents took little Max out for some fresh air and a ride around the city. (THANKS). I'm chugging water and Pepto (my little pink friend) and laying on the cold tiles to try to gather my strength. I was hoping I could actually make it down here to the computer to catch up on emails and sort through the over 300 photos of Merida, but I think this quick post is about all I can manage right now, it's time to hit the floor again.

Something has to break this curse, is there a shaman 911?

Jennifer- Thanks mami! I think it's a 36 hour bug, still not feeling great today though I am at work. Thanks so much for the award, so kind of you! ps, I replied to your email though it may not have been what you wanted to hear. :(

K.W.- The folks fell in love with Merida, it's a fantastic city!

Momto3- Well, Max started it, lol! He did get sick on the trip to Merida, just passed it on to me for the return to Cancun.

Amy- Thanks, I appreciate the well wishes!

All this Holiday Sick... still, it makes me anxious to get away. Remember - we'll be in Cancun from Saturday the 14th to the 21st. Find somewhere good that we can take you and Hubby for dinner!

Brice- We're looking forward to it! Lots of great restaurants to choose from, let me put my mind to it and pick one. Steak? Seafood? Or just plain old margarita goodness? :)

Steak AND Margaritas.
The Kaitress isn't a big drinker (yet), so we'll have to have a little food for her benefit... lol.

Oh, Kel, I'm so sorry. There is something going around - I was in bed all day yesterday and today the boys are down with tummy stuff. Take care and I am very envious of your Merida trip! i have an excellent realtor recommendation if your folks are serious.

Rosas Clan- Thanks hon, I've still got a sore tummy but the worst seems to be over. Max is back to his terrible ways, lol!

Holly- Welcome, glad to have you here! I've got a bit of a beach addiction (no support group either, sigh) so I am always posting new pics to keep those in colder climes warm. Nice to "meet" you!

Brice- Steak and margaritas it is! I have to admit that my drinking skills have greatly diminished, but I'm sure after one or two I will forget all about it and find my way back to old (bad) habits, lol!

Kathy- Something is definitely going around, some other teachers at work are complaining of stomach pain too. Someone poisoning the watering hole? Hope your clan is feeling better soon! I'll bug the folks about the seriousness of their search, if they are really keen, I'll give you a dingle.
