Fire Up La Parilla

We brought our visiting friends out for dinner last night to La Parilla on Yaxchilan Ave. downtown. We always have fun at this restaurant, decent food, good service and a whack o' mariachis. The menu has a nice mix of Mexican favourites, some Yucatan specialties and a good ole grill. The tableside flambee is a good show (and from my friend's report, quite delicious). We drank plenty of margaritas and had a good giggle all night long. It was great for me to be able to introduce Hubby to my old friends and even better to see them get along and enjoy each others company. Here's a few pics from our night.

Dinner on fire and a pineapple with a zucchini for a nose

Mmm, flaming Mayan coffee

Finally I figure out how to get a picture of the pouring flame,
I've been trying for years!

Provecho!

Ah, La Parilla! We love the Sunday brunch buffet there. So much good food, and a great price. We've never been there late enough for a margarita or other drink.... though "brunch" is awful close!

And BTW, Atlanta will be getting 1-to-3 inches of snow tonight. :o)

Beautiful pictures. I like the flames, but I would get scared if they were too close to me (as I imagine myself there of course). La Parrilla obviously looks like a great place to go and have a feast with music in the background and a show of food. My better half and I want to travel later on this year, Cancun is sounding very nice indeed. How was that coffee by the way? I love, l-O-v-E, LOVE coffee. :)

anon (Steve and Laurie)- Hi and welcome! La Parilla has a soft spot in our heart, mostly because it was the first place we found open after the hurricane, with hot food and cold beer (on the sly, there was a dry law in effect). A lovely brunch indeed! Ouch on the snow fall, glad I am here, lol!

carmen- Cancun is a great destination, surely a consideration for your upcoming vacation. I'd be glad to help. The coffee was GOOOOOOOOD. Kahlua and Xtabentun and hot strong black coffee.

ruth- The recovery is still under way. ;-)

bb- Come on down and try it for yourself! We treat our guests right.

Nikki- Add it to the to-do list. I've got a big list myself. :)
